Which instruments are available?

The canton neues Fenster is in charge of granting subsidies. At the municipal level, guarantees and contributions to interest costs can be granted to viable small and midsized businesses. In addition, government can grant tax incentives to new businesses beneficial to the economic interest of the canton for a maximum period of ten years. A major change in business activities may also be treated equally to that of a new company founding. Further promotion programs and instruments are also available.

Starting in 2010 a nationwide platform for innovations and young entrepreneurs will become available. The project neues Fenster is the result of a joint initiative of the University of St.Gallen (HSG), neues Fenster FHS St.Gallen neues Fenster, Empa/tebo neues Fenster and the city of St.Gallen to offer company founders comprehensive support during the founding and financing processes.
