Parking in the city centre
Parking places in the city centre are predominantly metered and intended for short stays. These are supplemented by car parks around the Old Town.

Cashless payment options
iOS (iPhone)
The expanded blue zones (EBZ) allow you to use your parking disk for a limited period of time (minimum one hour).
Residents can buy a long-term parking permit for the EBZ. Day tickets can be purchased for individual days. Commuters can enjoy unlimited parking on the EBZ with a monthly ticket.
Labelling
Blue floor markings and sign “Parking with parking disk” with the addition of the sector and the restriction of working days (Mon–Sat) between 8.00 a.m. and 7.00 p.m.
There is a service point for two campers on Grütlistrasse (near the Paul Grüninger Stadion). Day visitors can park their camper for 24 hours, but are not allowed to use this spot as a holiday spot.

Costs
- Power: electricity can be used at a cost of CHF 0.50 per kWh
- Fresh water: CHF 1.00 per 100 litres
- Parking fees can be paid via coin-operated machines
- 8.00 a.m. – 7.00 p.m.: CHF 2.00 per hour
7.00 p.m. – 8.00 a.m.: CHF 1.00 per hour
Fines can be paid directly to the municipal police personnel on the street (provided you have the correct change), at the desk of the police station at Vadianstrasse 57 or by payment slip. Your case will be reported to the investigating authority, if the fine is not paid within 30 days.
